Membership
Who are the RDA committee members?
Each RDA committee is made up of people with broad and diverse skills, experience and demonstrated networks and alliances within the region they represent.
Members are drawn from a variety of backgrounds, such as business, the education and health sectors, local government, industry, the community and environmental organisations.
Appointments to RDA committees were made by the Australian Government Minister for Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government Simon Crean, and in some states and territories, the state government minister responsible for regional development, following an open Expression of Interest process.
Applications for committee membership are sought through a public Expression of Interest (EOI) process. The EOI process ensures that RDA committee Chairs, Deputy Chairs and committee members:
•bring a diverse range of skills, experience and expertise to the Committee;
•reflect the economic, social, gender and cultural diversity of the region; and
•possess a sound understanding of the economic, social and environmental opportunities and challenges facing their region.
