What is RDA NT?
Regional Development Australia (RDA) is a national network comprising of members who are outstanding leaders within their local communities and have been selected for these important roles.
Committee members are individuals with strong grass-roots views about their regions who understand the economic challenges and opportunities within their local community.
RDA is a partnership between the three levels of government – Australian; state/ territory; and local governments – as well as the private sector and local communities.
RDA network committees have been established to strengthen regional communities and help them build their long-term economic, social and environmental sustainability. The new network builds on the former Area Consultative Committees and state-based regional development bodies with a broader and more strategic focus.
The RDA NT committee can:
- consult and engage with the community on economic, social and environmental issues, solutions and priorities;
- be a conduit of information between governments and local communities about government programs, services, grants and initiatives for regional development;
- support informed regional planning; and
- be important contributors to business growth plans and investment strategies, environmental solutions and social inclusion strategies in their region.
