October Business Month

2024 marks the 30th anniversary of OBM, this year’s program will see a focus on the key business themes of human connection, digitisation, workforce, growth, leadership and strategy and planning.

OBM is a fantastic opportunity for Territorians to up-skill and learn something new to assist their own professional development or help grow their business.

Five keynote speakers will attend this year’s OBM:

  • David Koch (Kochie) – leading business and finance expert, and former television personality will be presenting on the topic of prospects for business success.
  • Cathy Freeman OAM – iconic Aboriginal leader, sporting legend, Olympic gold medallist and community leader will present on the topic of achieving your life-long dreams and her reflections on business and professional development.
  • Pip Courtney – respected journalist, television presenter, and host of the popular ABC series Landline will present on the topic of agricultural leadership and diversification.
  • Leigh Sales AM – podcaster, award-winning journalist and author, will host the popular Women in Business lunch sharing her personal insights into what she’s learnt at the frontline of journalism about human nature, life and leadership from the women she’s met along the way.
  • Dr Alan D. Thompson – world expert on artificial intelligence (AI), author and advisor to Fortune 500s, sharing his tips implementing artificial intelligence in your business.

The opening keynote speaker event, NAB presents Business Success with David Koch, held in Darwin will be live streamed to Alice Springs, Katherine, Nhulunbuy and Tennant Creek, thanks to Livestream sponsor Digital Futures.

Each keynote speaker will be supported by a local Territory success story (TSS). This year’s TSS include a diverse range of Territory business owners and entrepreneurs, each of whom will bring their own local story to inspire and share with the business community.

The 60+ event partners will deliver a wide variety of events, workshops, and networking opportunities for attendees. The program also features a range of online events this year.
