Regional Development Australia NT announces new funding opportunity at strategy launch

NT regional and remote organisations will benefit from three new initiatives announced today by Regional Development Australia NT (RDA NT), spearheaded by a new Regional Investment and Readiness Fund. The $200,000 fund will support projects to reach their next level and strengthen their investment readiness.

A federally funded not-for-profit, RDA NT also announced it will formally address measuring and identifying solutions for regional liveability and will deliver grant writing workshops in Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Katherine and Nhulunbuy.

The initiatives form part of a new three-year strategy launched today, following the recent appointments of four additional committee members, CEO Katrina Kawaljenko and Chair Kon Vatskalis.

Mr Vatskalis said the new strategy and expanded Territory leadership marked a new era for the organisation, which is part of a national network of 50 Regional Development Australia committees.

“I’m very excited about the work RDA NT has planned not just over the coming months but years. The team is here to collaborate and connect organisations, industry and communities with the right people, key insights and on-the-ground support to turn ideas into action,” Mr Vatskalis said.

Attracting public and private funding — a key role of the organisation — will continue to be driven by local priorities and strong evidence, CEO Kawaljenko added.

“Our role is to help regional projects get investment ready by combining practical grant and project support with strong regional data and intelligence, so that more funding flows to the places that need it most.”
