Regional organisations and local councils across the Northern Territory are being encouraged to apply for a new grant program designed to help bring local projects to life.
Regional Development Australia Northern Territory today launched the Regional Investment Readiness and Impact Fund, a targeted, one-off grant program focused on supporting the final stages of project planning needed to unlock major investment.
With a total funding pool of $200,000, the program will offer grants of between $25,000 and $75,000 (GST exclusive) to help eligible organisations complete the critical ‘last mile’ work that can prevent even the best projects from progressing.
The grant program was designed to support regional organisations move beyond the concept stage and to position their projects for real funding opportunities, said Regional Development Australia NT CEO Katrina Kawaljenko.
“This is not just about individual projects, it’s about building capability across the Territory.
“We want regional organisations to be better equipped to secure Commonwealth, Territory, philanthropic and private investment into the future,” Ms Kawaljenko said.
The program focuses on the essential planning activities that make projects credible to investors, including business cases, technical studies, detailed design, approvals, governance frameworks and funding submissions.
Ms Kawaljenko said the fund responded directly to a long-standing gap in the Territory’s funding landscape and formed part of Regional Development NT’s recently launched Strategic Plan 2026–2029.
Applications open on 22 April 2026 and close on 1 June 2026, with successful applicants to be announced by 30 June 2026. An online information session will be held on 30 April.
