Regional Development Australia Northern Territory (RDA NT) is pleased to announce the appointment of four new members to its Committee, broadening the depth of expertise and representation across the Territory.

Alison Ross (Katherine): Alison Ross, owner and Principal of Elders Real Estate Katherine, brings more than 20 years of experience in the Top End property market. In addition to her role as Chair of the Big Rivers Region Economic Growth Committee, Alison serves as a board member and Treasurer of the Real Estate Institute of the Northern Territory. Her practical experience extends to agricultural operations, where she has managed pastoral and horticultural properties across the NT and East Kimberley.

Deborah Hartman (Tennant Creek): Deborah serves as the Executive Officer of the Barkly Backbone Team of the Barkly Regional Deal. She has also held board positions with Family Relationship Services Australia and Barkly Arts.

Luke Walker (Nhulunbuy): As CEO of Developing East Arnhem Limited (DEAL), Luke Walker is focused on creating economic development opportunities in East Arnhem. DEAL works closely with Traditional Owners, local organisations, and governments to drive sustainable investments in the region as it transitions beyond reliance on Rio Tinto mining operations. Luke’s career spans over two decades in leadership roles across multiple industries, including tourism and hospitality, and he is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Mary Watson (Darwin): Mary is the CEO of the Local Government Association of the Northern Territory (LGANT). With an extensive background in public administration and a strong commitment to supporting regional and local governance, Mary has held senior leadership roles that include strategic oversight and advocacy for local councils. Her work is distinguished by her ability to advance collaborative efforts and sustainable development in the region.

Drew Wagner, Chair of the RDA NT Committee, expressed his appreciation for the appointments: “I am delighted to welcome Alison, Deborah, Luke, and Mary to the RDA NT Committee. Each of these new members brings a unique perspective and a wealth of experience from their respective regions, ensuring comprehensive representation across the Northern Territory. Their expertise will be invaluable as we continue our commitment to strengthening and advancing the Northern Territory’s communities and economy.”
